Holy Cross decided to make a difference
Now you have a chance to do the same
The community’s oldest service center for the homeless was at risk of closing. Volunteers of America Michigan determined it could no longer sustain the programs that had served 7,349 people the previous year.
Enter Holy Cross Services.
Holy Cross leadership considered the thousands who depend on the services provided at 430 N. Larch St., and decided to save them. This decision preserved all of the key programs that continue to feed, clothe and shelter the homeless in our community:
- Emergency shelter for men, women and children
- Transitional housing for homeless veterans
- Hot meals for anyone who is hungry
- Health care
-
A day center for the homeless to find respite and recovery
-
Homeless prevention and rapid rehousing services
- Disability advocacy
-
Permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless, disabled individuals
-
Behavioral health services for the most vulnerable homeless people
Holy Cross Services was founded in 1948 as Boysville of Michigan and has grown from one site to 20 and continues to provide hope and healing to children, adults and their families. HCS is one of the largest private, not-for-profit providers of children and family welfare services as well as behavioral healthcare services in Michigan. Spirituality drives the mission, yet Holy Cross serves all people regardless of religious beliefs, ethnicity or race.
IT’S BACK AND MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER.
