Our
Work
Family-Based Care and Youth Transition
HCS’s Division of Family-Based Care and Youth Transition has three primary areas of focus:
1. Family Strengthening & Empowerment
2. Foster Care & Adoption
3. Transitional support for youth aging out of foster care
Residential & Family Healing
Our Residential Care and Family Healing Division has two inter-related and equally important areas of focus:
1. Residential therapeutic care
2. Wrap around services for families
We believe residential care should be a brief stop along a youth’s recovery journey, and that healing is always best supported when surrounded by the love of family.
Shelter and Community Care
HCS’s homelessness services are headquartered out of the New Hope Center in Lansing, and operates as Ingham County’s only low-barrier homeless shelter. The New Hope Center partners with Ingham County to provide low- and no-cost medical care for our participants. Our division offers three primary services:
1. Day Center & Community Kitchen
2. Overnight Shelter
3. Veterans’ Program
