My name is Jessca. I’m 17 years old and I have been at Holy Cross for about two and a half years now. I have no family, which made me feel like an outcast – until I came to Holy Cross. Holy Cross made me feel like I was somebody again. They knew that I was going through tough times, and helped me work through them.
What I like about Holy Cross is my worker Ms. Panyne; she’s been with me through it all. When I needed her, when I needed someone to talk to, she was always there. When I didn’t have anybody to celebrate my birthday with, she celebrated my birthday she took me out to eat. She’s just like a mother figure to me and Ms. Payne really inspired me and I will always love her for that.
When I leave Holy Cross, I’m going to a four-year college and hopefully I can come back and get an internship at Holy Cross. I’ve always wanted to come back and help other foster children that have experienced some of the bad things that I went through. I want them to know that they aren’t outcasts – they’re just normal kids like everybody else.
