Holy Cross & 94.7 WCSX Present: VillageFest
As the summer comes to an end, you may be looking for fun activities that you can bring the whole family along to enjoy. If you’re in the Metro-Detroit area, be sure to come to VillageFest in Downtown Grosse Pointe! VillageFest is brought to you by Holy Cross Children’s Services and 94.7 WCSX, and we’ve got a ton of great activities lined up that the entire family can enjoy! Today we’ll be showing you these events.
Grosse Pointe’s Got Talent
Grosse Pointe’s Got Talent is a great way to show off the local talent around Grosse Pointe! We’ll be showing off tons of vocalists, musicians, and many other family-friendly talents. This is the Village’s largest event – it attracts up to 10,000 visitors each year!
Do you have a talent that you want to show off? You can be part of this great event as well! It’s a fantastic way to get expose to residents and patrons of VillageFest. Up to 10 winners will perform in a dynamic event on the VillageFest Main stage 5:00 – 6:30 PM on Saturday, September 10th. The winner will get to perform in the 41st Annual Grosse Pointe Santa Clause Parade which is produced by the Grosse Pointe Chamber.
If you want to be a part of this great show, here’s what you need to do:
- Upload a video of a performance no more than 2 mins in length. Can be shot on any camera.
- All videos will be reviewed be a panel of volunteer judges and not shared with the public
- Ten acts will be selected to perform on Saturday, Sept 10th
These ten performers’ videos will be uploaded to the Village website, MetroAlive, and linked to Facebook for viewing prior to the event in order to encourage attendance. Send your auditions to thevillagegp.com/villagefest! Submissions must be made by September 1st!
VillageFest Car Show
If there’s one thing to be said about Michiganders, it’s that we love our cars. That’s why we’re putting on a great car show showing off your classic, antique and exotic cars. Celebrate Grosse Pointe’s rich automotive history with an exhibition in the Village! The show is on Saturday, September 10th from Noon – 10:00 PM as well as on Sunday, September 11th from Noon – 5:00PM. Want to be part of the show? Just fill out the car show registration form.
WCSX will be drawing the Corvette For Kids Raffle drawing on Saturday at 7:00 PM. You can win a classic revamped 1961 Corvette, all while supporting children in need. It’s not too late to purchase a ticket – tickets are on sale until September 4th until 11:59 PM! You can purchase tickets here.
Kick-Off For Kids
On Friday, September 9th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM we’ll having the Kick-Off For Kids! This is a fantastic reception that includes cocktails, a strolling supper, and entertainment! The reception will be taking place at Scott Shuptrine – 17145 Kercheval Ave. Enjoy a great night out and benefit Holy Cross Children’s Services! You can purchase tickets here.
Holy Cross Children’s Services and 94.7 WCSX are bringing you a weekend of fun and entertainment! VillageFest is a great time for the whole family where we’ll be offering music, a Saturday night dance party, kids activities, The VillageFest Car Show and Grosse Pointe’s Got Talent amongst many more great things to do!
